Hello there lovelies. We have been very busy in the lovely co. kitchen this afternoon…in fact we think we may be glutton for punishment. A couple of weeks ago we agreed to make cupcakes for Mr Lovely’s Melbourne Cup ‘bring a plate’ office lunch. As you probably know if you are a regular reader, we generally don’t do things by halves when it comes to baking.
With that in mind, we have created a dozen very snazzy Melbourne Cupcakes, complete with a racing track (green sugar), embossed horse shoes and jockey’s silks, all encased in polka dot cases. We really hope they add a dash of fun to tomorrow’s race day celebrations. What do you think?
Until today we’d never used soft fondant icing before (the kind you buy in a block and roll out)…but it turned out well and it makes a nice change to our usual buttercream icing. Looks a bit posh.
Now, does anyone know how to get food colouring off hands and nails? Eeek!
Have a lovely night and good luck if you are having a flutter tomorrow. x.
