Good afternoon lovelies! Lately we’ve found ourselves very into creating vignette’s around our home. ‘What on earth is a vignette?’, we hear you ask. A vignette is just a fancy pants word for a small collection of items that are lovingly arranged to help bring a space to life. Think flowers, trinkets, books, artwork and more. In fact, the more personal and outside-the-box your vignette is, the better it will look. This is an excellent way to experiment with different looks on the cheap, so chop-chop lovelies… have a go!
We’re always on the lookout for little bits and pieces that we can dot around the house, or include in a vignette. You never know where you might find something really beautiful. Take for instance the copper goblets in the first two pictures below. We found these in our local St Vinnies – $8 for the pair. Used as tealight candle holders they cast a gorgeous warm glow in any space. Plus, copper and rose gold tones are going to be big in homewares this season, providing a softer look than silver or yellow gold.
Here are a few snaps of some of our own vintage vignettes.
Have a lovely afternoon. x.
Hello there lovelies! We recently had the pleasure of creating a lolly bar for a beautiful beach side wedding. Our brief was simple. It had to be pretty, romantic and of course, delicious.
In keeping with the couple’s chic white and gold theme we carefully selected an assortment of goodies like Ferrero Rochers, jersey caramels, milky bars and homemade golden shortbreads to tickle the tastebuds of guests, young and old. Fresh flowers added softness and romance, especially the baby pink peonies we lovingly chose earlier that morning at the Sydney Flower Markets.
It’s such an honour to be asked to be part of a couple’s big day, and we were as pleased as punch to find a completely devoured lolly bar when we turned up the next morning to dismantle the display.

Hello there lovelies. Have you noticed some of the fabulous summer handbags that are making their way into the shops? So many bright colours and fun finishes. We’re loving it.
Here’s our philosophy on handbags: treasure one or two neutral-coloured, superior quality leather bags (we have Oroton, Saba and Cellini)… then fill up your accessories cupboard with affordable on-trend totes, clutches, messengers and more. Yes, they may only last a season or two before they start looking a little ratty, but don’t be too worried. You will definitely have had your wear out of them.
Here’s our latest picks from some of your favourite high street stores.
Have a lovely night. x
Good afternoon lovelies! A couple of weeks ago we created a brand new living and dining room space for a very special styling client. The brief was to develop a grown-up, but fun room that was functional and also appealed to the apartment’s art deco architecture. Our client had already purchased a couple of pieces that she was keen to hang onto – a creamy white leather couch, neutral shag rug and a chocolate brown shelving unit.
There were two (small) catches. Firstly, because this was a rental apartment we weren’t able to removed the pale pink and white swirly wallpaper that covered several walls. We had to find a way to complement and detract from it instead. Secondly, our client was on a limited budget of around $1,500, so maximum bang for buck was required.
We embarked on a major shopping expedition (both online and bricks ‘n’ mortar) with our client and hit up a range of retailers including Aura by Tracie Ellis, IKEA, Kas Australia, Vintage Venus, Oz Design, Domayne and more, to put together the perfect look that she can add to over time. Take a look at the before and after shots below. A transformation… and one very happy client!

Why hello there lovelies! Today’s weather in Sydney town has been unseasonably warm for a late winter’s day…28 degrees, thank you very much. Anywho, this has really got us into a spring time tizz.
This spring/summer we are going to update our make-up look with some delightful new lippy colours and kits. We particularly love the new 3-in-1 offering from MAC. The Lip Bag by Julie Verhoeven features a lipstick, Dazzleglass Creme gloss and a Cremestick Lip Liner, all packaged up in one very cute make-up bag. We’ll be heading straight for the super-girly pink version, but the peach kit looks equally enticing (in fact, we already own the Ravishing Lipstick that comes with that kit and can vouch for its loveliness).
Benefit also continues to woo us with its adorable packaging and quality products. Those of you who are already fans of its Box o’ Powders like Dandelion, Sugar Bomb and Coralista, will love the new range of matching Ultra Plush Lipglosses. A great way to brighten up those smackers!
Have a lovely night. X.
